The plain-English rules for using Waypoint. By creating a trip, joining one, or buying a plan, you agree to them.
Waypoint (https://waypointapp.cloud) is operated by Andrew Hunt. When these terms say “we” or “us,” that's who they mean.
Waypoint helps a group plan a trip together: a pitch page, RSVPs, polls, a schedule, updates, and a shared ledger of who paid for what.
We're a planning tool, not a travel agent. We don't book travel, sell tickets or lodging, or hold anyone's money. The Money section is a record the group keeps for itself — nothing in it moves real money, and settling up happens between you and your group.
The organizer runs the trip. Plans, costs, and bookings are between the people going, and we aren't a party to those arrangements.
You sign in with a one-time link sent to your email — there's no password. Keep access to that inbox secure, because anyone who can read it can sign in as you.
Guests can answer an invite with just a name and email, no account needed. If that email already belongs to an account, we'll ask you to confirm it's really you first.
Anything you post — trip details, comments, polls, expenses, links — stays yours. You give us permission to store it and show it to the people on that trip, which is simply how the product works.
When you invite people by email, you're telling us you have a real reason to contact them about this trip. Only invite people you actually know.
Don't use Waypoint to send spam, harass anyone, impersonate someone, break the law, or try to get into trips or accounts that aren't yours. Don't try to disrupt, overload, or reverse-engineer the service. We may remove content or suspend accounts that do.
Building a trip is free. Paid plans unlock inviting your group:
Guests never pay. Answering an invite, joining a trip, and taking part are always free.
Trips created before paid plans existed stay free to invite to, permanently.
Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card number. Prices are in US dollars. If we change the Pro price, we'll tell you before your next renewal, and it won't apply to a year you've already paid for.
Invite codes have no cash value, can't be exchanged for money, may expire, and may be limited in how many times they can be used.
Pro: cancel anytime from your trips page under Plan & billing. You keep Pro until the end of the year you've paid for, and it won't renew after that. We don't refund partial years, except where the law requires it.
Trip Pass: if you change your mind within 14 days of buying and haven't sent any invites from that trip yet, email us for a full refund.
Trips can link out to maps, photo albums, and booking sites. Those belong to other companies with their own terms, and we're not responsible for them.
We work hard to keep Waypoint running and your data safe, but the service is provided “as is,” without guarantees that it will always be available or error-free. Reminders and emails can be delayed or filtered as spam, so don't rely on Waypoint as the only record of a deadline.
To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses — including missed bookings, travel costs, or disputes within your group — and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
You can stop using Waypoint anytime, and organizers can delete their trips. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms. If we ever shut Waypoint down, we'll give reasonable notice first.
If we make a meaningful change, we'll update the date above and let account holders know by email. Continuing to use Waypoint after that means you accept the new terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of Utah, United States. Questions? Email hello@waypointapp.cloud. How we handle your information is covered in the Privacy Policy.
